The Volkswagen Genuine Used Cars dealer liability under this warranty is strictly limited to the repair or replacement of covered components. The warranty agreement. This warranty is between you and the Volkswagen Genuine Used Cars dealer. It is made up of:

- This booklet.
Together, these documents set out the terms and conditions of your warranty. It is your responsibility to ensure that the details contained in the warranty application are correct.

All Volkswagen Genuine Used Cars are under five years old and with less than 100,000 kilometres (for petrol) or 120,000 kilometres (for diesel) from the date of purchase. This warranty will either be the balance of the original warranty that covered the car from its first registration, a stand-alone warranty or a combination of the two.
Making a warranty claim. To make a claim under this warranty, carry out the following:
- Return the vehicle to an authorised Volkswagen dealer.
- Provide details of this warranty (including the warranty booklet) when delivering your vehicle to the authorised Volkswagen dealer and ask the service personnel to lodge a claim on your behalf.

- If we reasonably believe that a claim made under this warranty is fraudulent, misleading or deceptive in any respect.
If we cancel the warranty, the warranty will not apply to any claim made by you, if that claim has not been processed by the date of cancellation.

What the warranty covers.
The Volkswagen Genuine Used Cars dealer agrees to repair or (at the absolute discretion of the
Volkswagen Genuine Used Cars dealer) replace (or have one of its authorised Volkswagen dealers repair or replace) free of charge any covered component that suffers a mechanical failure during the warranty period, subject to the terms, conditions and exclusions set out in this booklet.
The warranty does not cover any maintenance, adjustment, upgrade, modification, manufacturers product recall and/or re-programming required to any covered component, or the cleaning of any covered component (including the removal of any algae, carbon or sludge).
Parts used in repairing your vehicle may either be new or reconditioned (at our discretion) and will be commensurate with the age and condition of your vehicle. Reconditioned parts may be reconditioned other than by the vehicle’s manufacturer.
The total liability covered by this warranty in respect of claims is limited in aggregate to the purchase price of the vehicle, which is detailed in the warranty application.
There will be some instances where repairs cannot be authorised until your vehicle has been dismantled. In these cases, we will need your authority to dismantle your vehicle for proper diagnosis prior to commencing any repairs. Provided that the problem is covered by warranty, repairs will be authorised and you will not be charged anything extra for dismantling and re-assembling your vehicle. In instances where the problem is not covered by this warranty, you will be responsible for all cost associated with dismantling and re-assembling your vehicle.
Servicing your vehicle.
You must ensure that all services recommended by the manufacturer are performed in accordance with Volkswagen requirements. This information can be found in the vehicle’s maintenance or service booklet.
The vehicle maintenance booklet must be stamped and dated with the correct kilometres/ miles odometer reading by the repairer that performs the servicing. This information will be needed in the event of a claim. Failure to do so may void your warranty.
All servicing must be performed by an authorised Volkswagen dealer. These workshops are well equipped with qualified personnel. They will help ensure a quality service for you and your vehicle. You are free to go elsewhere, but you risk the warranty no longer applying if your repairer causes a fault.
All covered malfunctioning components removed from your vehicle as a result of being replaced under this warranty are the property of the Volkswagen Genuine Used Cars dealer. If you do not comply with these servicing requirements, the Volkswagen Genuine Used Cars dealer may (at its absolute and unfettered discretion) refuse a claim or cancel this warranty.
